In this video, Prof Chang (formerly from Cambridge, now at SOAS) argues that economists have obfuscated economics and made average person feel its beyond them (image: wizard of Oz); yet today, more than ever, do we need to have a better grasp and learn to question the economics around us. Also, note that the current form of economics (known as neoliberalism) has not always been the main school of economic thought and policy. In Week 2, we will explore what neoliberalism is and where/how it shows up.
